The Power of Surrender

The spirit of control directly opposes the spirit of surrender.

Sometimes—when in conflict—our natural instinct is to hold on tighter without realizing it’s in our best interest to let go.

The moment I choose to lay down my perceived control over something, God is right there to pick it up. This can be “control” over my health, my future, my marriage, my children, my reputation, my dreams, my calling… Whatever it is, as soon as I surrender it to God, the enemy loses his ability to attack it.

When things are in my hands, Satan likes to initiate a tug-of-war with me. But, when I tie the end of my rope to the throne, Satan knows he’s going to lose that battle every time.

So, when the enemy starts attacking something in your life, remember that your power lies not in your control, but in your surrender.

“And my faith in Him convinces me that He is more than able to keep all that I’ve placed in His hands safe and secure.”
2 Timothy 1:12
